Rapidly create diagram content (quick modeling)
There is a quick method for creating diagrams. In the following example, it is assumed that you insert line breaks using Ctrl + Enter.
Prerequisite
You have configured the mini toolbar for the elements you want to use. This means that the required elements are available directly.
Open a diagram.
Click
Toggle connection mode, if the button is not yet enabled. In the Symbols bar, select the element you want to place.
In the diagram window, click the position where you want to place the model element.
Enter a name for the element and press Enter. The element is still selected and the mini toolbar is displayed when the mouse pointer is in the vicinity of the element.
In the mini toolbar, click the element you want to place and connect with the element you have already created. You are given a choice of the edges that are possible between the two objects.
Select the edge you want to draw between the two elements. This setting is retained for modeling elements of the same type until you select another edge.
In the diagram window, click the position where you want to place the element.
Enter a name for the element and press Enter.
You can now place further elements.
Tip
To insert elements without linking them to the element you placed last, click in the diagram background. The Symbols bar provides you with all available objects.
