What is inline editing?
You can directly edit UML elements in diagrams, on the Explorer tree tab, or on Properties tabs, such as Format and Presentation. In the following, this is illustrated using the example of class members to show how to select and edit them within the class symbols or in the Explorer tree.
If you have selected a member and you click it again, you can edit the UML notation directly.
You can copy, cut, and paste class members using the familiar keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl + C, Ctrl + X, and Ctrl + V). In the diagram and the Explorer tree, you can use drag and drop.
Once you have created a new member you can edit the UML notation. Briefly position the mouse pointer on the activated member. If the cursor is displayed, tooltips appear to inform you of the UML notation.
You can nest diagram elements in the diagram window by dragging one element to another. This creates an invisible edge. If you place a class on another, the edge has the type Owning class. If you move the surrounding element, the enclosed element is also moved.
