Update message sorting

If you move message edges in a sequence diagram, the sequence numbers are adjusted automatically. In rare cases, it is possible that a sequence number is not displayed correctly. If this happens, you can start the sorting yourself.

Prerequisite

You have specified that the sequence numbers for the messages in your sequence diagram are displayed.

(ARIS > Options > UML > Representation options, enable the Symbols > Sequence diagram check box under Diagram/Elements. In the Settings area, enable the Messages > Show sequence number check box for the selected message edges.)

Procedure. Procedure

  1. Ensure that no diagram element is selected.

  2. Activate the Contents tab bar.

  3. Click Edit Edit elements > Update message sorting.

The edges are sorted so that the numbering is output in ascending order.
