Move elements within a database

You can move groups, diagrams, and nodes within databases using drag and drop.

Prerequisites

You need the Write access privilege for both groups you want to move items from and groups you want to move items to.

Warning

Please ensure that you do not unintentionally change the access privileges. If a user has access privileges for the source group, but not for the target group, this user can no longer access node definitions after nodes have been moved. If you move only the diagrams, that is, without the nodes contained therein, the user can no longer open the diagrams. However, the user can change the node definitions that were not moved, even if presentations of them exist in diagrams that were moved to a group for which the user has no write privileges.

Procedure. Procedure
  1. Click ARIS > Explorer Explorer. The Explorer tab opens.

  2. Click Navigation Navigation in the bar panel if the Navigation bar is not activated yet.

  3. Log in to the relevant database.

  4. In the Explorer tree, select the diagrams and/or nodes that you want to move to another package, model, or profile.

Select the model elements (package, model, or profile) or groups that you want to move to another group.

  5. Click the selection, hold down the mouse button, and move the mouse pointer to the target group in the Navigation bar.

  6. Release the mouse button.

The elements are moved to the target group.
