Examples: Within the selection
Two diagrams exist, with diagram M 2 being assigned to function F 1 of diagram M 1:
If the two diagrams are versioned successively, the assignment is not included due to the Within the selection option since the assignment does not belong to the selected scope in the first (diagram M 1 selected) and the second versioning (diagram M 2 selected). The versioned diagrams exist without the assignment relationship, even though the assignment relationship exists in the Workspace versioning state:
The objects E 1 and F 1 have occurrences in diagram M 1 and are linked by the activates connection. The object E 1 also has an occurrence in the diagram M 2 while the object F 1 has an occurrence in the diagram M 3.
The diagram M 2 is versioned first, followed by the diagram M 3. Because of the Within the selection setting, the activates connection is not versioned. Thus, only the versioned objects E 1 and F 1 exist in the target database:
as occurrences in the diagrams M 2 and M 3
as definitions at the definition level
